That's what a sketch on a comedy show said, but the truth is, what I want to share doesn't make me laugh.
Sometimes I don't like to use this word because it sounds like metaphysics or something like that, but how important balance is even in the Christian life. Yesterday someone wrote to me and told me that he was writing to me because he needed a word of encouragement and he couldn't find that in his pastor, and the mistake is that sometimes we think that the pastor should only teach, correct, and bark, bark and bark!
I am not a pastor, but there are several in my family and I have been in this environment all my life, other than that 'I have a bible' and I know what the bible says about the pastorate.
And the truth is not everything is correcting, teaching, instructing, barking!
Sometimes you also have to laugh with those who laugh and cry with those who cry! Romans 12:15
Sometimes it is thought that the pastor is only there to give the word and that's it! That that is his job and nothing more!
But, no, as my mother said when she was in the more or less correct gospel: "A shepherd must smell like sheep."
A shepherd not only uses the rod and the staff, but also uses the oil to heal. And his hands to hug, if the Bible says that the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep, don't you believe that he can also hug them, comfort them?
My humble and yet strong advice is that we do one thing without stopping doing the other.
Kisses, I am Profe Bubba
