A few days ago I heard "pastor" Andrés Corson say some barbaric things and he added words at will to some biblical verses to justify himself and I started looking for the verse in all versions of the Bible (😎 and even in the textual Bible and nothing But he said it with confidence and what he said seemed so intelligent and correct that it made me remember something that happened to me at university.
It turns out that we had an exhibition and a boy who belonged to our exhibition group did not study with us, he did not even study on his own, nor had we assigned him a point, nor was it an area that he mastered or anything, but to call us good people, he did not We take them out of the group.
The truth is that about 5 minutes before our turn to present, the young man arrived and told us "give me something, give me something to present" and one of the group gave him part of what he had to present to be presented by the "lost" ".
The "lost" young man reads the title only of what he had to explain and when it was his turn to explain he did so with such confidence and eloquence that he left everyone speechless and convinced of what he was saying but there was a small and big problem, it turns out that everything What he was saying was a lot of crazy things and while the young man was explaining, the rest of the group looked at each other and suffered because of the crazy things this boy was saying.
In the end, to everyone's surprise, it was a success! Everyone applauded his intervention and congratulated him... except us who knew that what he was saying was crazy.
I was quite amazed and after finishing the presentations I asked the teacher aside: What happened? What just happened here? At that moment she let me know the power of eloquence and group dominance.
The same thing happens with current pastors and leaders. We are in the age of emotions and if you know how to move them, if you have eloquence and group control, people will not even worry about reading the Bible to see if what you say is correct and they will praise you for your "revelation" and wonderful teaching and you will be the best shepherd in the world and loved by everyone.
That is why we must be careful of those two little things or things: eloquence and group dominance (which are necessary to manage any group but can be horrendous tools in the hands of the evil ones)
I hope this helps us to be cautious, not emotional, and to never stop following the example of the Berean brothers. Acts 17:10-11, who for the apostle Paul were "more noble" because every day they reviewed the scriptures to see if everything they told him was true.
