Large industrial companies usually have employees who are only necessary in the event of a breakdown. When something goes wrong with the machinery, these men spring into action to locate the defect, repair it and the machine works again.
For these technicians, routine work is not of interest. They are specialists in discovering and repairing defects.
This is also the case in the Kingdom of God. God always has specialists whose main objective has been and is to repair the moral catastrophe; the deterioration in the spiritual health of nations or the Church. Men like Elijah, Jeremiah, Malachi and others of the same stature have appeared at critical moments in history to rebuke and exhort in the name of God and Justice.
Thousands of religious ministers of the common type, pastors, teachers, could work quietly almost unnoticed while the spiritual life of Israel or the Church was normal. But as soon as God's people have strayed from the paths of truth, God's specialists have immediately appeared almost out of nowhere. Their instinct, trained for difficulty, brought them to the aid of the Lord and Israel.
Such men have been drastic, radical, sometimes almost violent, and the crowd of curious people who surrounded them soon branded them as fanatics, extremists and negatives. To some extent they were right.
They were men of simple minds, serene, fearless, and these were the qualities that the occasion demanded. They clashed with some, they offended others with their words; but they knew Who had called them and what they were sent to do. Their ministry was emergency, and this fact made them different, unique.
With such men the Church owes a great debt that is impossible to pay. The curious thing is that they are not paid while they live but the next generation decorates their tombs and writes their biographies as if to relieve themselves of a duty that the past generation forgot.
Men sent by God, not to carry out the normal business of the Church, but to challenge the priests of Baal on the summit of their ecclesiastical mountain, rebuke the careless ministers of the altar, confront the false prophets, and warn the people. lost by them.
Such men are not easy companions. The professional evangelist who quickly leaves the meeting at the end to run to a luxurious restaurant with some admirers to celebrate the success of his eloquence and tell funny jokes will find a true nightmare in such a server.
God who cannot detach himself from his sacred duty like one who turns a crank.
The fact that he insists on showing himself as a Christian and servant of God at all times makes him different.
It is impossible for him to be neutral. His acquaintances will be clearly divided into two classes: those who love and admire him to the utmost, and those who hate him with accentuated contempt, with their words they either have to run to a place of prayer, or they will feel compelled to tear him to pieces, closing his heart to his appeals and warnings.
