IT IS NOT BIBLICAL!
The idea of letting things go. That you should forget the bad thing someone did (not denying the responsibility to forgive)
We must understand that things are faced and sins are assumed, faults are recognized and forgiveness is asked.
So many times I have heard "God has already forgiven me and that person still remembers what I did to him"
But have you already followed the biblical model? Have you already asked for forgiveness? Have you read the biblical principle of restitution? Have you tried to restore it in any way?
Uhmm but you complain that the person keeps remembering what you did to him and that he is a bad Christian who doesn't forgive. It is easy to demand his responsibilities from others so as not to fulfill our own. Easy to call another immature for not forgetting what we have done to them.
It is not necessarily resentment, they are unhealed wounds that YOU caused, but since a heart that is not humble, not broken and arrogant prevents you from asking for forgiveness, it is easier to leave it like that and blame the other.
People are used to doing wrong, they never ask for forgiveness and if they see that someone continually remembers the hell they were put through, "it is because they are spiteful."
And yes, the injured person must look for a way to heal, but the idea of letting things go and the affected person looking for ways to heal is NOT - IS - BIBLICAL, and they dare to say that if he does not do so it is because he is a spiteful person who not mature!
Yes, the person will have to find his or her ways out of love for himself and his generations.
But IT IS NOT - BIBLICAL - The idea of letting things go and detaching ourselves from our responsibility to God to repair what we damaged.
Jesus did not tire of repeating to the people of Israel even the sin of his ancestors. He reproached him for how in the past they hated God, killed the prophets.
Stephen died reminding people of their past sins.
Do you know what Peter's great preaching was about?
Well, in that preaching the apostle Peter reminded him of his past sins to the people of Israel.
I remember saying to someone a few years ago "let's meet, let's talk." The response was "No one here is going to meet or talk" because it is assumed that everything is fighting. I love peace, if you see me at war in something it is for the gospel. Remember that Jesus is the prince of peace and in the new testament we do not find anyone as fighting as Jesus (READ YOUR BIBLES)
I have noticed that many people who talk about peace today use peace as a well-orchestrated strategy for the sole purpose of bringing people together. But that's another post.
Let us not forget that according to the Bible the kingdom of God is Justice, Peace and Joy. It is surprising that he places Justice before peace. We must be careful of us wanting to change the Bible and seek peace first than justice in the Kingdom of God.
God's judgments seem to move in a morrocoy, but they move! And God warns "agree"
There are people who for years have seen that not doing injustice, lies, deceit and evil has gone so well for them that in their hearts they think that God approves of what they did. The problem is that God sends his justice in Morrocoy, and be careful that he surprises us without settling accounts.
Curious that they see the morrocoy of God's justice take a while and instead of settling accounts they begin to boast about how God is with them.
And God's justice is not always death and not all death "for a Christian" is good. Because first if you have not settled accounts YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN, even if you cast out demons, heal the sick... Matthew 7:22-23. There are people living an illusion of being right with God, forgetting Matthew 7:22-23.
I know that there are abandoned daughters or abused sons who, even if they are 60 years old, need a "forgiveness" or a reason. Even if the reason is "I abandoned them because I was stupid"
