A while ago someone commented on some nonsense (in my opinion) in one of my posts (something that for him was already like a daily task) and I responded "I checked your face, and the truth is there is no evidence that you have the credentials that it says Pablo, there is nothing in you that shows that you have the marks that a real Christian should have, you are a joke!"
There was a little sister, who was very upset by what I said to this man and said some "nasty" things to me.
After thinking about it a lot (about 4 weeks) I realized that there are actually Christians who ARE A JOKE. They don't have a life, they don't have the marks of the gospel, they don't have the credentials that Paul says and they think they have authority! Unfortunately they are a Christian joke.
The idea is that we are known and hated in hell, not that we are a joke to the devil and a disappointment to heaven.
I would accept being (and I have been) a disappointment to my parents, a disappointment to my family, but how horrible to be a disappointment to heaven.
I remember him telling some people: "There's some where I bought, but it's horribly expensive." The price of being known in hell and in heaven is horribly expensive, but even more horrible is hearing that phrase "I know Jesus, and I know who Paul is; but who are you?
But to become known in heaven must first come what 2 Corinthians 11:23-33/1 Corinthians 4:11-13/Galatians 2:20 says, what some scholars - and other non-scholars like me - call "The Paul's credentials"
How many of us can say "I have fought the good fight"? How many of us can say "I am crucified with Christ"?
Leonard Ravenhill said: "At the last moment of his earthly pilgrimage Paul declared: "I have fought the 'good fight.'" The demons could have said amen to
this statement, then - they suffered more from Paul than Paul from them. Paul was well known in hell."
Can we safely say that we have fought the good fight? Would the demons say "amen" if we uttered such a statement? Or are we just a joke for hell?
May God help us so that in the time we have left on earth we can fight the good fight, running the race legitimately.
How sad to be a Christian joke.
Wear cool Christian t-shirts with biblical texts, and be a Christian joke...
Put every day on the face "who are those who are going to heaven?" and fill it with motivational phrases and receive thousands of likes, and be a Christian joke...
Belonging to the super prophetic and revival super church, and being a Christian joke...
Being part of the young people fired up with impact and power and super powerful, and being a Christian joke...
Being a super modern pastor, loved and recognized by everyone and not being known by hell or worse, being known by hell for being on its staff... that is being a Christian joke.
Running legitimately and having the "credentials" and marks of a true Christian is horrible, but even more horrible is being a joke of a Christian, a stranger in heaven and hell.
How interesting that being "the scum of the world" means being a true Christian. But in this upside-down world where the most recognized and loved preachers and known as "men of God" would be excellent at performing StandUp Comedy, well, actually that's what they do instead of preaching the truth. A good, entertaining talk with a good dose of humor so that the lukewarm and the goats feel comfortable. 🙁
I do not write this with joy or with the intention of insulting or offending but with extreme sadness, pain and crying, if while I write what is there is crying. Because that's how the church is and the worst thing is that they don't accept it and as long as we don't accept it we can't stop being "a Christian joke."
