Not everyone is an idiot.

For a long time I said the phrase "There are many people who are going to hell for being idiots." And I really thought about those people who followed pastors whose level of heresy was as obvious as the color red on the flag of my country.

Also, while studying various sects and religions, when studying their beliefs, some of which are quite crazy (especially Mormons), I said to myself "How can people be so stupid to believe such things?"

One afternoon while I had a conflict in my mind about all this because I couldn't believe that so many thousands would go to hell for idiots (Maybe they will never understand the burden I have for the lost).

Then I started thinking about a time when my family attended a very, very heretical church and everyone in the family was aware of it, but we didn't leave there. And everyone had their own excuses, my parents, we had already been to several churches, plus we were already there for quite a few years. They were in the leadership and we had formed a kind of family and friends in that church.

We children already had our circle of friends there and we were very attached to them. I officially started in a worship ministry there and before it was damaged I had one of the best preparations in the ministry that one can have and my attachment was immense.

Thinking about all this I realized that no, we were not idiots and even though Jesus said that many false prophets would arise and deceive many (Matt 24:11)

The truth is we were not one of those who obviously exist because Jesus said so. But we were not deceived, simply that "church" had several things that suited us and if you read what I wrote a moment ago you will realize that few of those things were spiritual.

Some time after that, my father, now a pastor, joined a ministry (because at that time the "coverage" heresy was just beginning and they scared people that if you didn't have "coverage" from a ministry you were practically useless, no. you had no address or destination or anything)

My father joined that ministry which later became the largest ministry in the country.

and the heresies began!

One after another, year after year. They talked about every crazy thing, every unbiblical teaching, every thing that seemed like someone who had smoked a churro had said them, but for us there were some problems with leaving the ministry as was the obvious thing to do due to the amount of heresies.

The little problems were that, as I said, the ministry had already become one of the largest ministries in the country, the main church was (or is) the largest in the country and for my father that was like having a branch of McDonald's, if you have You know from the name that people are going to go eat there. And the church that my father pastored had the name! In other words, it was security of people, security of offerings and therefore security of economic well-being.

I remember that I had already moved to another city and had recently left the ministry and I spoke to my parents about the need to leave that ministry because I moved near the main church (the largest and where the main pastor of the country was). And I was able to learn first-hand about all the heresies.

And the response from one of my parents was "You know that we are already old, we have a sick son and we are raising two granddaughters, if we leave the ministry people can leave the church. And how do we support ourselves if there are few offerings? -My flesh agreed with them to this day, but my spirit to this day does not agree with them-

For us children and for the rest of the church, being part of the largest ministry in the country gave us so much cache that sometimes when they evangelized, many talked more about the ministry than about Jesus. It was super cool to go to a youth conference and there were 10,000, 20,000.

Thinking about all this led me to 2 Timothy 4:3 "The time will come when people will no longer listen to sound, sound teaching. They will follow their own desires and seek teachers who will tell them what their ears are dying to hear."

Then I realized that just as in the two cases that I mention above, my family and I were not deceived but rather, as the verse of 2 Timothy 4:3 infers, those churches had what we wanted.

Likewise, there are many people who are not idiots, it is not that they are brutes.

Many times I told myself "Oh, how stupid they are, none of Maldonado's prophecies have been fulfilled and he has like a thousand unbiblical teachings and the people are still there, Bertucci and Cash Luna have preached as many heresies as the stars in the sky and the people are still there! What idiots the people who follow them!

No, it's not that they are gross (in theory) it's that those churches have something that people want to hear, something that people want.

I was reading a book about sects and religions and the author said that most sects have the "hook" of making people feel good, making them feel like family, making them feel that they are taken into account.

I know closely the case of a girl who in the church where she was almost did not take her into account as she wanted and she began to attend one of the most heretical churches in my country (CCN) and within a year she was the right hand of the church. pastor and obviously became a little machine to bring people to them. Today you give people the gospel they want (you make a golden calf to their liking) and they will even idolize you.

It was not as I thought, it is not that the world is full of idiots (In theory they are not idiots but in practice they are) But just like what happened to me and my family with those two ministries, those churches, those sects, They give you what your damaged heart wants, and tell you what your damaged heart wants to hear.

Today I think I've matured a little and have different priorities. Even with weaknesses, the priority is not what my flesh likes but what feeds my spirit. I am not interested in the whole church appearing to be a beautiful family, but rather that in that beautiful family no heresies are preached and the Bible is the only authority, not revelations, not what daddy said (that is what some ministries call their pastors) or what the man of God said.

And if that church does not idolize its leaders, but like those of Berean, believers are urged to review each teaching according to the scriptures.

I was about to write the typical "Kisses, I'm the profebubba" when I remembered something interesting.

A few years ago someone from the leadership of a heretical church in my country had announced on their networks that he was going to leave the ministry, the reasons were obvious and in less than two days he retracted it. What led him to change his decision? According to what we know, they gave him a high position in the political party of the pastor who wants to be president and a good salary.

Is that leader deceived? Is he an idiot for still standing there? No, he is not deceived and in theory he is not an idiot, he simply allowed himself to be bought by those who many pastors have allowed themselves to be bought, Greens, many greens! They gave him what his meat likes.

Are you one who allows yourself to be guided by his passions and what his flesh desires? I hope never to be, I've seen too many and I don't want to be one of them. And although I have a lot of need and I love greenbacks, my desires must submit to my spirit.

I'd rather listen to a thousand sermons from Paul Washer, even if it bothers my flesh, than to hear 5 minutes of Bertucci or Maldonado or Cash Luna or Ricardo Rodriguez or Andres Corson or Rony Chaves or any of those heretic specialists in brightening the ears.

Not all are deceived, not all are idiots, but they are rebels, hard of heart, who resist the Holy Spirit. Well that's what the Bible says.

Now yes, kisses, I am the profebubba
