I am a Christian and a while ago I had a friend, we were very close, I think that if they had asked her to give her life for me she would have done it, although I had never entered her house and never met her family. Our friendship was somewhat strange because every time I saw him doing something wrong, I told him so. I think people didn't understand how even if we were fighting all the time, we were still friends.
Then I found out that she was a nymphomaniac and as a Christian I considered that I should not be friends with her; The problem was that she kept looking for me, so I decided to continue the friendship, but maintaining my identity as a Christian, that is, to continue telling her the things I was doing wrong and until the last day I left my city and I can no longer be in contact with her. I kept the same principle.
The point I want to address at this moment has to do with what I just said. Today the church has somewhat misunderstood that Jesus ate with sinners, Jesus ate with sinners and was friends with prostitutes, but every time he did it, he confronted them, rebuked them and showed them their sins.
Most people in the church today stop being Christians when they are with their non-Christian friends. We have been called to be light in the darkness, but many when they are in darkness become darkness and excuse themselves by saying that the apostle Paul said that he did everything to reach someone (1 Corinthians 9: 20-22)
Once I was so Christian with that friend of mine that I told her: "Handy, stop it, you've had sex with half the men in this city!" And the truth is, I think Jesus would have told her the same thing if he were her friend.
A man of God once said: "It is not bad to have non-Christian friends, what is bad is not to be Christians in front of them."
Take heed, then, that the light that is in you does not come to pass as darkness. (Luke 11:35)
There are two extremes that we must avoid: 1º Totally separating ourselves from people because they are sinners and 2º Being so close to them that we stop being Christians (light) when we are with them. (Jeremiah 15:19) Let them turn to you, and you do not turn to them.
